The Food Sharing Project relies on the time and talents of many volunteers to succeed in getting nutritious food to hungry students.
Volunteer opportunities at The Food Sharing Project:

Leadership Team
Becoming a member on our Board of Directors is a great way to use your leadership skills and passion to support our work. Contact the office to find out more.

Committee Volunteer
From time to time, we are looking for volunteers to help with short-term projects as a committee member. Send us a note if you are looking for a way to help out and have specific skills to offer.

Warehouse Volunteer
Once a week, on Monday mornings, our team of volunteers packs over 400 boxes of food to be delivered. If you would like to join our roster of volunteers, and can commit to a regular schedule (like every other Monday), let us know.

IN-SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS
School staff members volunteer their time to plan and deliver nutrition programs in schools. Volunteers who want to support school staff and make a direct impact are trained and placed by The Food Sharing Project in schools who would most benefit.

Volunteer Story
“La première fois que j’ai entendu parler du
“I first learned of FSP from both my daughter and granddaughter. After I retired, I was looking to do volunteer work. I had heard that you learn better when you have a full stomach, which brought me to FSP. I love volunteering there. The volunteers are a great bunch of people to work with as well as the staff. I have been volunteering for two years and hopefully I hope to continue.”

– A secondary school student overheard by a teacherHonestly, having the grab and go station in the school just helps me make it to class.
– Secondary school studentI don’t know why, but math is easier after I have something to eat.
– Elementary studentI saw the student putting a few extra cartons of milk in his backpack, so I gently asked why, and he said he was taking it for his siblings because, "school is the only place we can get fresh milk."
– Secondary school teacher“Just a note to say thank you and your helpers for all you have done for myself and my family. You don’t have to do anymore I think we will be okay for now.”
